Depths of Darkness
A Very Diverse Collection of Horror Short Stories!!!
This book is a horror anthology with 16 twisted tales all around 20 pages, or so, in length. It offers a diverse range of stories from the supernatural to sci-fi to murder mystery; and occur in many different parts of the world and even different time periods. I was particularly fond of " Broken Silence," though I am partial to supernatural thrillers that one was one of the more realistic, and very effectively built tension from the stress of a wife trying to sneak out on her husband who is not the man she thought she married. Like most anthologies, some of the stories feel like the beginning of a bigger tale and left me wanting to know what happens next. I understand there is a "Depths of Darkness 2," in the works, so hopefully, some of those stories from the first will get another chapter.
Christina also wrote and published "Black Candle," which I have also read, a few years ago.
I recommend both novels to anyone who enjoys modern horror and wishes to sample an independent talent who is just getting started!!! ~ Jason Yates
These were Thirteen, nicely written, stories that are very creepy and fun to read. Some of the stories were pretty long for being part of an anthology, which makes them more descriptive, detailed, and much easier for allowing them to sink into your bones. Significantly, spine-tingling read. :) ~ Nessa
Black Candle
It reads really quickly but the whole time you're so captivated that it feels like you ARE the characters.
It also keeps you guessing. I love a good book with unexpected turns. Though what I really want is for Christina to make a series. Maybe not from this one but with the same basis and maybe a longer idea on a storyline.
I mean who doesn't love a good book series? ~ Kyrie
Black Candle is a well written book with a surprise ending!
I enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to her next book Depths Of Darkness. This is a must read author as she always comes up with an original storyline I read her stories in The Endlands and was hooked. I highly recommend this author if you enjoy horror/supernatural books that take some unexpected turns or some surprise endings. ~ Jeff
